we go to the big news wench right now. 2013 is the driest calendar year ever on record for the bay area. here is a look at some of the percentages of normal rainfall for the year. only 13% of the normal amount up in santa rosa. 12% in gilroy. so all reporting stations are now saying it's driest year on record. we need rain but there is none in the immediate forecast. clear, chilly overnight. we have dry mild weather for the beginning of 2014. satellite shows a large expanding ridge of high pressure dominating now lifting jet stream well to our north.
